Senior Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist

Summit Interconnect is hiring a full-time Senior Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist at our Santa Clara location.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior AR Specialist is responsible for all Accounts Receivable transactions including AR tracking, posting, troubleshooting, investigation, validation, analysis, resolution, and documentation.


Process customer credit card payments daily/weekly.
Process credit memos for sales change orders.
Process RMA credit memos.
Verify customer Resale Certificates on the BOE website. Set up customer tax status in systems.
Assist in Credit Hold and Credit Alert Maintenance.
Assists in certain monthly close activities and annual audits.
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Respond to and resolve customer billing issues and questions.
Respond to questions from the internal Sales team’s questions regarding customer issues.
File customer Credit Memos
Assist and/or backup in Cash Application
Assist and/or backup in preparing and processing deposits.
Assist and/or backup in collections of customer accounts
Assist and/or backup in processing AR invoices
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing other responsibilities as needed.


5+ years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role
Experience with Accounting Systems and A/R sub-ledgers required
Very good understanding of basic accounting principles
Understanding advanced A/R topics such as Credit Checks and A/R Insurance is recommended
Experience with D&B reporting required
Experience with Reconciliations and Full Cycle accounting activities a plus
Ability to be a team player and be able to deal with dynamic situations, high volume and additional projects required
Can deal with difficult situations with customers and colleagues and enjoys working in a fast-paced high tech environment
5+ years of experience with spreadsheets (Excel)
5+ years of experience with accounting software (we use Sage)
Proficiency in English and in MS Office
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Team player
Good time-management skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills
AA or BA degree preferred
